(Video) Flat-footed Shaw ignores opportunity to overlap Fernandes while United attacked Chelsea

It was the latter stages of the match and Manchester United were hunting for a goal.

Chelsea were there for the taking but it wasn’t until late on that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side showed the required urgency to go and get a goal.

The two teams were too busy avoiding defeat and both approaches lacked any real firepower.

Bruno Fernandes has high standards and demands the best from everyone around him, but he must have been scratching his head baffled at why left-back Luke Shaw couldn’t see the gap in behind Chelsea’s defend on the overlap.

The Portuguese midfielder holds up the ball because there’s nothing on and Shaw stands there like he’s offering the great patch of space on the pitch — behind Fernandes in a position you never see him cross from.

He needs to wake up in these situations if United are to find ways to win games.

It’s lazy!
