Video: Sky Sports reporter gives update on Man Utd pursuit of Sancho and Dembele

Manchester United are ‘working really hard’ in their pursuit of possible alternatives to prime target Jadon Sancho, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

United’s appear to have exhausted all avenues in their attempts to lure Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, with the Bundesliga club insistent they will not sell their star man in the closing days of the transfer window.

This incredibly frustrating window has yielded the solitary addition of Donny van de Beek but surely there has to be at least two arrivals before the October 5 deadline.

A wide forward is an area that needs strengthening and multiple reports have confirmed an interest from United in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

Sheth and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano have both noted that the Reds are keen on a loan deal for Dembele, who has struggled to make his mark in La Liga after his move from Dortmund in 2017.

United have been patient all summer in their pursuit of Sancho and do not seem to have given up on finally securing his services in the final days of the window.

But the urgent requirement of additions to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad means other possibilities must be explored and Dembele could be viewed as a stop-gap option if permanent switch for Sancho materialises next year.
