Borussia Dortmund captain lands blow to Manchester United’s transfer hopes

Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus sounds confident that Jadon Sancho will stay beyond the transfer deadline.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Jadon Sancho, however, the Premier League giants have yet to make a formal offer for the England international.

Fans have rightly become impatient because this is a deal United have known they wanted to conduct for well over a year. It’s inexcusable that they’ve let the saga drag on this long and there’s little to suggest anything will change between now and October 5.

As the deadline for the market to close nears, The Guardian have tipped United to step up their pursuit of Sancho, stating that BVB are demanding €120m for the transfer while United’s valuation is some way short of this.

Reus has made it clear that Sancho is an essential player and talks like he doesn’t expect to be losing his best teammate anytime soon.

He has given an interview to Sky Sports News, saying Sancho “is an essential player for us.”

Like United, BVB haven’t enjoyed the best of starts to their 2020-21 campaign. They lost 2-0 last time out against Augsburg and will be looking to get back on track when they take on SC Freiburg this weekend.
