Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly told number-one summer transfer target Jadon Sancho that a long-awaited deal to bring him to Old Trafford could soon happen but insisted that tough negotiations still await.
Sancho, 20, became Solskjaer’s number-one target after one of the most impressive breakthrough campaigns ever seen across Europe’s top-flight.
The young Englishman who is currently plying his trade with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund racked up a monumental 40 direct goal contributions in just 44 appearances in all competitions last time out for the Black and Yellows.
Sancho’s stunning season last campaign saw him become one of Europe’s most prolific attackers despite operating predominantly on either wing and has been hotly tipped to become Old Trafford’s next number seven.
Sancho’s impressive form and projected development means he carries a valuation of an eye-watering £108m, as per The Times, however, a proposed deal to bring the Englishman to Manchester has still yet to materialise with talks struggling to progress.
However, the latest in the ongoing-saga comes from Germany’s Dagbladet TV reporter Fredrik A. Filtvedt who believes Solskjaer has held private talks with Sancho and assured him a deal could be close.
Filvedt’s tweet translates to: “New talks between Solskjær and Sancho. There, the Norwegian is said to have given notice that he thinks the transition will soon be over. But “difficult negotiations” remain …”
