Dortmund not to blame as Sancho to Man Utd transfer held up by two problems

Manchester United are reportedly still determined to sign priority target Jadon Sancho in this summer’s transfer window.

United fans have been growing frustrated at a lack of progression in transfer negotiations, after being given a brutal reminder of their need for an elite forward after crashing out of at the Europa League semi-final stage against Sevilla.

Much of the frustration has been pointed at Borussia Dortmund, who are said to have been obstinate in their approach of selling Sancho.

But contrary to that belief, ESPN reports that United’s efforts to sign Sancho are actually being held up by a failure to agree personal terms and agent fees, rather than a transfer fee with Dortmund.

It is noted that there is a chasm in the views of what Sancho’s salary should be between United and the England international’s representatives.

United are also baulking at the excessive fee that would need to be paid to Sancho’s agent to start negotiating the transfer.

ESPN’s report states that while there has been little communication between the two clubs, United would be confident in eventually finalising a deal with Dortmund, if the two issues could be solved.

Although there is still no indication United are closer to signing Sancho, ESPN’s sources suggest United remain keen on the player and are positive they would be able to strike a deal with Dortmund for his signature.
