Jadon Sancho deadline arrives; announcement expected in Germany

It’s a significant day in Jadon Sancho’s career because August 10 is apparently the deadline set by Borussia Dortmund to get a deal finalised.

Reports in Germany have suggested that if a deal is not agreed on today, Sancho will remain at Borussia Dortmund for another season meaning United will miss out of their prime target this summer.

But does anyone really think Dortmund would reject an offer next week if it matched or went beyond their asking price?

The question now is did Dortmund really set a deadline and, if they did, will they stick to their guns?

Christian Falk from Germany based publication BILD says that Dortmund’s Head of Sport Michael Zorc will address the media today about the situation.

Though with more understanding of the situation, journalist and former Premier League footballer Jan Aage Fjortoff believes that the deadline cannot be set in stone.

There is no such thing as club specific transfer deadlines either.

With the winger spotted partying in the UK over the weekend, it would have been perfect sense to wrap this deal up but United do not appearing to be rushing negotiation talks because Dortmund have a date they want everything sorted by…

Whatever the announcement Zorc gives to the press today, I fully expect this saga to drag on.
