Premier League announce new transfer window dates that affect Manchester United

The Premier League has confirmed that the revised summer transfer window will take place between July 27 and October 5.

As noted by Sky Sports, these new dates have been enforced due to the coronavirus pandemic and are subject to the approval of governing body FIFA.

The window is set to open the day after the conclusion of the Premier League season, and gives clubs 10 weeks to refine their squads ahead of the next campaign.

Manchester United will have already began planning for their incomings and outgoings this summer, but there is still plenty of uncertainty regarding financial implications of the pandemic and whether or not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side qualify for Champions League football.

Anyhow, it is imperative the United board do their business effectively and back their manager this summer if they are to have any hope of closing the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City.

And according to the Telegraph, Solskjaer is preparing for another summer clear-out with six senior players said to be dispensable.

It is reported that United will listen for offers for Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot and Jesse Lingard to boost transfer funds.

The Telegraph understands that Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho remains United’s priority target, but a central defender and a striker will also be signed if the budget can be stretched.
