Aston Villa captain and Manchester United target (via Daily Star) Jack Grealish has hit out at criticism from former footballer turned Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness.

The former Liverpool man was highly critical of Grealish during coverage of yesterday’s clash between Aston Villa and the new Premier League champions on Sunday. Villa were beaten 2-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield and they currently sit in the drop zone.

Souness made it very clear he is yet to be convinced by Grealish and he questioned why would a club sign a player who is the most-fouled in the division

“When I was playing I would not want to have been the most fouled player in the Premier League,” Souness said on Sky Sports, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News. “That means I’m holding onto the ball too long.

“That means I’m not seeing the picture early enough, taking too many touches when I don’t need to. There’s no doubt about it he has ability, easy on the eye, silky. But I’m yet to be convinced by him.”

First this led to a reaction on Twitter where an image was shared to show that Grealish had created the second-most chances in the Premier League this season behind Man City’s Kevin de Bruyne.

The Villa man shared it on his own Twitter, adding: “Can’t please everyone.”

United fans will enjoy Grealish’s reaction since Souness is craving for someone else to pick on now that Paul Pogba is giving him nothing to fault on the pitch.
