Manchester United fans approve of the club’s renewed interest in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
The Times report that United are ready to rival Real Madrid for the Dutchman’s signature this summer.
Los Blancos already had a deal agreed in principle to sign van de Beek, but the move has been thrown into doubt due to the financial crisis La Liga is facing amid the coronavirus pandemic.
United could therefore hijack a deal to sign the 23-year-old, who fits Solskjaer’s criteria of young, dynamic talent with plenty of potential.
Van de Beek has already proven himself on the European stage, starring in the inspired Ajax side that reached the Champions League semi-finals last season.
He is a versatile player that can operate from anywhere to the holding midfield role to the number 10 position currently occupied by the totemic Bruno Fernandes.
And it is his midfield adaptability which makes him such an exciting proposition for Solskjaer, who could try the youngster in numerous different roles.
Van de Beek would no doubt be a marked improvement on the likes of Jessie Lingard and Andreas Pereira, who simply do not possess the Dutchman’s quality.
It is believed Ed Woodward is aiming to seal a transfer for around €40m this summer and we feel it would be a bargain for player of van de Beek’s talents.

Van de Beek has shown everyone that he can play on the biggest stage in world football. If we can get him for €40 million, it will be an absolutely fantastic deal. I'd saya deal close to €45 would be agreed. Donny likes the Premier League. This deal could accelerate.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used Jesse Lingard as a tireless presser, versatile midfielder who links play with deft touches whilst manipulating the space off-the-ball created by the front three.

For anyone arguing we don’t want/need Van De Beek, I don’t want to hear you complaining/moaning about Pereira/Lingard.
You deserve them

Donny van de Beek would be a great signing if Utd do manage to get him. Only 23, has a good amount of CL experience. Can play as a 6, 8 or as a 10. Technically very good, works hard defensively, chips in with goals & assists. Potentially available for €40m. #mufc. pic.twitter.com/XmLVCSOeHL

VDB is an excellent Lingard replacement

Love Grealish as well but looks like Ole wants a VDB type profile in his squad. I’m not complaining
