Rio Ferdinand teases loads of United fans with reply to cryptic transfer tweet

Saul Niguez created a social media frenzy at the weekend by teasing that he will name his “new club” on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Spanish midfielder has been linked with Manchester United, as per Sky Sports, with reports suggesting the Red Devils will offer him a £200,000 p/w deal.

Saul posted the following on his official Twitter page: “Communication. I wanted to communicate something important to you.” The post was accompanied by an image, in both Spanish and English reading: “NEW CLUB. I’ll announce it in 3 days…”

When contacted by Stretty News on Monday, Saul’s representatives refused to comment on any transfer speculation.

With Paul Pogba likely to remain at Old Trafford this summer, it’s difficult to see United landing Saul with the player set to make an announcement on his future tomorrow.

And Saul is taking a page from former team-mate Antoine Griezmann’s book of engineering transfers, which is not a good look…
