Man Utd scout Birmingham City ace, 16, as assistant Mike Phelan watches midfielder

According to The Sun, Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Birmingham City sensation Jude Bellingham.

It’s alleged that Mike Phelan scouted the ace recently.

The Sun add that the Midlands outfit aren’t expecting to lose the youngster just yet, but we all know that will change when bigger clubs start showing an interest. The report claims Bayern Munich are also interested in the midfielder.

If the 16-year-old can continue to impress for the Championship outfit there will be a number of clubs chasing him next summer.

Bellingham made a name for himself instantly when he made his debut at the start of the season and scored a late winner against Stoke City.

He has two goals in three appearances for England’s U-17s.

This is the second Championship player to be linked with a move to Old Trafford today, alongside with Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who according to the Daily Mail is currently valued at £40m.

United’s need for midfield reinforcements is a no brainer as well, having seen both Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera depart for pastures new this season. Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like Nemanja Matic will be at the club for much longer, with Calciomercato claiming AC Milan are interested in the Serb.

A new look midfield is a must for next season.
