Man Utd winger Daniel James compared to Kylian Mbappé by opposition manager

Manchester United forward Daniel James is as fast as Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé, according to Hungary manager Marco Rossi.

Rossi heaped praise on the Welshman ahead of tonight’s crucial winner-takes-all Euro 2020 qualifier in Cardiff tonight.

“James is a player that is playing with a motor bicycle because he is really fast. I have never seen someone in the last period as fast as him, maybe Mbappe. He’s unbelievable,” Rossi said as quoted by the BBC.

“If we leave him space to run he could be dangerous.

“This could be the key, but we work a lot on the defensive line and will try to give confidence to our players.”

While it would be naive to compare James to one of the best players in the world in Mbappé in terms of ability as a whole, he certainly does have electric speed that can cause problems for any defence in world football.

James has arguably been the bargain signing of the summer since joining from Swansea in a £15m move.

Many United fans had expected the youngster to play a sporadic role in the first-team during his first season at the club, but he has instead been a fixture in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting eleven.

The 22-year-old has operated from the both the left and right flank, and has looked most dangerous in an attacking trio with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. He currently has three goals and three assists for the Reds.

We wish James the best of luck in the pivotal qualifying match at the Cardiff City Stadium tonight.
