Man Utd transfer news: Man Utd prioritise right-sided midfielder

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified the right-side of midfield as the priority area for strengthening at Man Utd, according to Mark Ogden of ESPN.

Manchester United have started the 2019-20 campaign in awful form, losing again at the weekend away to Bournemouth. They go into Saturday’s game against Brighton already 10 points adrift of the top four.

And despite this, we don’t get a feeling his job will be gone anytime soon as it sounds like Solskjaer will be backed in at least another one transfer window.

Sources have told ESPN that United will only make signings in January if long-term targets become available – and that Solskjaer is looking for a player to come in and operate on the right-hand side.

Our problems at right-back were solved by Solskjaer in the summer. Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined from Crystal Palace and looks like he’ll be our full-back option for many years to come.

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James have all played on the right for United, but all three are arguably better coming in from the left.

Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho will be a target but can United get the winger without Champions League? It has been reported that Real Madrid will make a move for him in the summer, too.

So, who could it be? And will we see anyone come in this winter?
