Confirmed MUFC starting XI v Southampton: Mata and Pereira start

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named his starting eleven for Manchester United’s trip to Southampton.

The Reds must get back to winning ways following the shock defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, and Solskjaer has made three changes this time out.

Club captain Ashley Young comes in for the injured Luke Shaw, who will be out of action until after the international break.

New signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka retain their place in defence alongside Victor Lindelof.

The underperforming Jesse Lingard is replaced by Juan Mata in the side, that looks like a 4-3-3 set-up with Andreas Pereira starting alongside Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay in midfield.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old sensation Mason Greenwood will be looking to make an impact off the bench after missing out on a place in Solskjaer’s starting team.
