Report: Real Madrid hope to ‘announce Paul Pogba signing next week’

Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid want to wrap up the signing of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as early as next week.

Spanish outlet Okdario claim that officials in Madrid are calm that a deal will be completed and are ready to welcome the World Cup winner to the Bernabeu.

The report claims that Pogba is desperate to wear Los Blancos shirt as soon as possible, and he will require no bedding in period as he will already be comfortable with French compatriots Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema, along with coach Zinedine Zidane.

Pogba has previously been heard stating his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer, and admitted it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid.

We have seen no reports that a deal for Pogba to move to Madrid is imminent so we must take this report with a pinch of salt, but it does seem the Frenchman’s most likely destination this summer.

Pogba does not seem happy at Old Trafford and it is up to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sanction the midfielder’s exit.

The Reds will hope they can recoup significantly more than they paid for Pogba, which they will hopefully use to reinvest in the squad this summer if Pogba does eventually leave.

Despite these reports, I do not expect Pogba’s move to happen anytime soon; this saga may drag on for several weeks yet.
