Rio Ferdinand reacts to bizarre statement from Paul Ince on Solskjaer’s Man Utd job

Paul Ince has had a bit of a mare.

The former Manchester United midfielder dips into the controversy pond every now and again to stay relevant.

Ince claims he would have had the same success as caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who remains unbeaten as United manager after nine games, including two away wins over Tottenham and Arsenal.

On the contrary, Ince’s past 9 games as a football manager looks a lot worse: P9 W0 D1 L8.

It makes you wonder if Paul Ince is on a different planet. It’s not the first time he has argued in his favour for the United job, but he even name checks Mark Hughes as another manager who could have matched Solskjaer’s achievements in just one month.

Both Ince and Hughes are out of work at the moment.

Rio Ferdinand passed comment on Twitter after BT Sport shared a video of Ince’s bizarre assessment.

Using just emojis, you can tell the former Manchester United defender is in disbelief with Ince’s comments.

Ince isn’t the most popular former United player, not helped by his transfer to Liverpool in 1999, but he’s always been confident in his own ability.

Nobody can deny his quality in United’s midfield between 1989 and 1995, but we do wish he would spout less rubbish about the club when given a platform to provide analysis.
