Shaw on verge of signing five-year Man Utd contract after finally catching a break

Reports are emerging on Sunday from The Express that Manchester United are set to offer Luke Shaw a new five-year contract.

The deal United are offering Shaw is said to be worth £150,000 per week.

Shaw joined United from Southampton in July of 2014 for a fee of around £33.75 million.

However, despite being at United for just over four years, Shaw has played just 75 games for the club. That is largely down to some terrible luck with injuries, though the 23-year-old has regularly been questioned about his attitude and determination to become a top footballer.

But this season Shaw finally caught a break and knew heading into the new season his future at United depended on it.

He’s been our best performer by some distance in what has been a poor campaign for United.

The full-back even won United’s player of the month for August and September.

As a result, it appears Shaw is being rewarded with a five-year deal.

Next up for The Reds is Chelsea in the league at Stamford Bridge.
