Defender arrives in London to sign for Man Utd

Manchester United are working on finalising a deal for FC Porto full-back Diego Dalot, with the 19-year-old arrived in London on Monday.

According to TalkSPORT, Matteo Darmian is set for a £11 million move to Juventus while Antonio Valencia has one year left on his current deal, so Dalot may well be seen as a long-term replacement for the right-back slot.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have Dalot as an understudy to Valencia for next season.

The Manchester Evening News believe the Reds have agreed on a transfer fee for the defender. He joined Porto from Dragon Force in 2016 and has made eight appearances across all competitions for the first-team.

Dalot, a Portugal U21 international, has only 12 months remaining on his contract and Porto have looked to cash in early. It’s unlikely that he will be a regular at United immediately given his age and lack of experience, but the same was said about Eric Bailly when the Ivorian joined from Villarreal.

Now, all we need is a new left-back. Hurray!
