Rooney Set To Miss Manchester Derby

It’s looking likely that Manchester United will be without Wayne Rooney when they take on Manchester City Wednesday night due to the striker being sent to America for rehabilitation and conditioning work.

I thought this fixture could of been a way for Rooney to win back some of the fans he recently lost when he came out with a statement saying the club had no ambitions and that he wanted to play with the best players in the world. In other words, I want higher wages please!

We are still not 100% sure when we’ll see Rooney in action again but he has been sent to America this week to work on his fitness.

Mike Phelan said: “What we are intending to do with Wayne is send him to Nike Town in the USA for a week’s conditioning training.

We have decided, with Wayne, the medical team and the coaching staff that it would be the best thing for him.

He is going on Saturday and will return the following Saturday.

It is a week’s intensive conditioning, under the supervision of our medical team and our sports’ science department.”

It’s great Rooney is going to work on his fitness but I don’t understand why he wasn’t sent last week instead of going away on a holiday to relax with wife Coleen only after being on one somewhere else.
