‘We will be able to run all over them’: Everton ace makes confident admission ahead of Old Trafford trip

Jordan Pickford is feeling confident ahead of Everton’s trip to Old Trafford this Saturday.

The Toffees travel to M16 on the back of a 3-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham United to take on Erik ten Hag’s dejected Reds, who are looking to bounce back from two straight Premier League losses.

Everton have been granted one silver lining in recent weeks after their 10-point deduction was reduced to six at the end of February, with their four returned points moving them out of the bottom three and five points adrift of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, United’s Champions League hopes are now a distant dream as they sit 11 points away from Aston Villa. The situation has, as expected, sparked significant concerns over Ten Hag’s future in the dugout given that the 20-time champions face yet another trophyless season post-Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pickford’s ballsy admission

Speaking to talkSPORT prior to this matchweek’s early kick-off, Pickford declared his faith in his outfield teammates to get a job done against the struggling Reds.

“For me, I think the intensity and the work-rate the lads give out, the running stats, I think we will be able to get after them. We will be able to run all over them They have got a few injuries as well. But you never know which Manchester United turn up on the day.

“It is about us focusing on ourselves, and the manager and the staff setting out the game plan. We try and execute that and get the results.”
