Why Alexis Sanchez missed Man Utd training ahead of Crystal Palace game

Alexis Sanchez was granted permission to miss Manchester United training on Thursday morning.

As per Manchester Evening News, the 30-year-old missed the session to sort out visa issues ahead of Chile international friendlies next month.

Sanchez’ Chile side face Argentina in Los Angeles in September, and the forward has previously had trouble when entering the United States for the pre-season tour last season.

It’s unclear whether the Chilean will still be a Unite player when his side face Argentina on September 6th.

Sanchez is still widely expected to leave Old Trafford before the European transfer window shuts on September 2.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan to join up with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, a former United teammate.

However, according to BBC Sport, there is still not an agreement in place between the Reds and Antonio Conte’s side over the Sanchez’s transfer.

Their report claims negotiations have reached a stumbling block over Sanchez’s wages. He reportedly earns £390,000 per-week which is an issue as Inter are only willing to pay half his salary in the proposed loan deal.

Sanchez is believed to want the move to Italy, but is not keen on such a significant pay cut, which is making the transfer difficult to complete.
