Solskjaer ‘desperate’ to sell Man Utd star before European transfer window shuts

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly desperate for Alexis Sanchez to leave Old Trafford before the European transfer window closes on September 2nd.

According to the Sun, the United boss has not been a fan of the Chilean since his arrival, and wants to see him off the wage bill this summer.

The reports claims Sanchez earns a huge £505,000 per-week at the club, but could be made to train with the reserves until his future is resolved.

It is believed Roma want to sign Sanchez on loan, but are not willing to pay the 30-year-old’s staggering wages in full, so the Reds would have to share the burden in order to make the move happen.

Sanchez has been a disastrous addition for the Reds after joining in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Arsenal.

The Chile international has never managed to find a spell of form at Old Trafford, and his career at the club looks destined to be a failure.

As Sanchez regains his fitness, Solskjaer is continuing to use his youthful options of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in attack. The pair both scored in Sunday’s 4-0 demolition of Chelsea, and they can continue to deliver this season after no replacement was signed for proven goalscorer Romelu Lukaku.
