Man Utd fans will love what Scott Mctominay said after third goal against Chelsea

Some fans think Scott McTominay’s comments after Marcus Rashford scored Manchester United’s third against Chelsea were the highlight of the game.

Mctominay was heard shouting ‘we go again!’, encouraging the United players to build on their already impressive lead in a group huddle in front of the Stretford End.

The Scot was again impressive, if not eye-catching, in central midfield, and has now already become an important part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

The lack of midfield additions this summer means McTominay will be heavily relied upon this year, after his breakthrough under Jose Mourinho last season.

There is no doubt that a midfielder should have been signed as the Reds are still desperately short in the area. Solskjaer will always be one injury away from having real problems in the centre of the park, but for now it is encouraging to see McTominay take his chances.

McTominay’s comments after Rashford slotted home to put the game beyond doubt are fantastic to hear. The 22-year-old displayed the mentality we ask for in a United player, he is already showing leadership qualities in a red shirt.
