Aaron Wan-Bissaka could undergo Man Utd medical ‘next week’ ahead of £55m transfer

Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be set for a medical at Manchester United as early as next week, according to reports.

Football Insider say that a deal for Wan-Bissaka has now been agreed, with an initial fee of £40m that could rise to £55m with add-ons.

The report states that after extensive negotiations in London with Crystal Palace, there has finally been a breakthrough in the structure of the transfer.

Wan-Bissaka is set to return home from the U21 European Championships next week following their shock exit after defeats to Romania and France.

Aidy Boothroyd’s side play their final group game against Croatia tomorrow evening.

England’s exit from the tournament could speed up the impending transfer of the right-back, and United are seemingly confident of getting the deal over the line before the end of next week.

Wan-Bissaka is expected to be manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s second signing of the summer following the transfer of Daniel James.

The youngster is another exciting prospect and will be the specialist right-back fans have been longing for following recent seasons watching the defensive incapabilities of converted wingers Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.

United players are expected to return for pre-season training on July 1st, and it looks increasingly like Wan-Bissaka may take part.

However, Solskjaer was hoping all of his summer business would be done before pre-season which is simply not going to happen given the need for further additions this summer.
