Bruno Fernandes had quite the weekend as he scored the winning goal in a Premier League game for the third time this season.

Fernandes had previously provided the golden touch in games against Nottingham Forest and Burney and his latest winner against Fulham came with the perfect milestone to match.

The United captain’s strike took the side to within touching distance of the Champions League places and Erik ten Hag will be hoping to build on the morale-boosting win at Craven Cottage with back-to-back wins in Europe when they make the trip to Copenhagen.

Fernandes will be hoping to be in the spotlight once more and his winner was not the only notable aspect to that game – it was also his 200th appearance for the club.

The Portugal international has been a mainstay in the side since joining in January 2020 and he has amassed an incredible tally of 67 goals since his debut.

He has also recorded 57 assists in that time, meaning he has been directly involved in 124 goals in 200 appearances – a ridiculous record for a midfielder.

Having recently been named captain by Ten Hag, Fernandes is continuing to take the leadership role head on and his status in the dressing-room is reflected on the pitch.

David de Gea, who departed the club earlier this year after 12 seasons, sent a cheeky jibe Roy Keane’s way after the win at Fulham after the Irish legend had suggested Fernandes isn’t a suitable captain.
