Everton takeover collapse could backfire in Jarrad Branthwaite’s favour for transfer

Manchester United remain interested in Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. To make matters interesting, the Friedkin Group have withdrew their interest from buying Everton football club, which means The Toffees need to find a new way to generate funds ahead of next season.

Longing for a definitive end to their precarious financial woes, Everton were in advanced talks with 777 Partners for an extended period this time until the purchase agreement expired at the beginning of June. TFG then entered the fray last month in hopes of striking up a deal that’d see them able to pay off the club’s baggage of debts. However, Friedkin has left talks due to concerns over the £200 million worth of loans 777 made to the Merseyside outfit last season.

Ineos are considering a “third and final” bid for Branthwaite and could go up to a total package of £55 million to seal the deal, as per The Athletic.

There has been a lot of financial uncertainty at Everton after they were deducted points in the Premier League last season. Sean Dyche don’t need a repeat this term or else it could be enough to send them down to the Championship.

In light of the news, James Ducker dropped a cryptic transfer hint, writing: “Maybe Branthwaite ends up getting sold after all…”

Branthwaite was Everton’s best player last season and they are in the process of losing midfielder Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for £50m, which will come as a blow for Dyche.

So far this summer, Everton have stood strong to fight off interest in the centre-back. Two bids from United have been rejected. How can they keep rejecting offers without financial security?

Branthwaite will be keen to know what the future holds for him.

Everton have held him against his wishes and it could leave him unhappy having to stay in Merseyside for another year.
