Manchester United have conducted some brilliant business in the transfer market this summer.

Not only have they managed to sign two of the best young talents in world football in striker Joshua Zirkzee and defender Leny Yoro, the Red Devils have done well to offload the deadwood such as Mason Greenwood and Donny van de Beek.

More arrivals are expected soon but the Red Devils might have to make some sales before signing another player.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Man United are still interested in signing Bayern Munich defedner Matthijs de Ligt, despite edging closer to sign Yoro.

The transfer expert revealed in his Daily Briefing Column that Man United are targeting a move for one more centre-back and they have held positive discussions with de Ligt.

Romano wrote:

“Some fans have been asking me about what this deal [Leny Yoro] means for the interest in Matthijs de Ligt – for now, the discussions have been positive and advanced but now for Man United it’s time to think about the outgoings.

Matthijs de Ligt is likely to join Man United this summer.

“Man United still want one more centre-back but selling players is absolutely crucial for them, this is why the Matthijs de Ligt story remains open but not imminent now.”

United have been chasing de Ligt for a long time now and it seems like the defender will move to Old Trafford sooner or later.

The Dutch international has worked under manager Erik ten Hag before at Ajax and both of them know each other well.

de Ligt is ready for a new challenge away from Bayern Munich where he lost his starting spot last season.

The Red Devils have surprised everyone with their no nonsense approach in the transfer market this summer.

They might not have been the busiest Premier League club this summer in terms of signing players but they have added the most quality to the squad.
