As the full-time whistle blew, the deflated Manchester United players acknowledged the away end for their incredible support on the night.
These fans have watched a lot of crap this season – travelling close and far to follow their team.
On some occasions, there have been players that walked straight for the tunnel which is one of the worst traits I see in the modern player. Tonight they went over to the fans which is what you want to see regardless of the result.
The away end was still pretty full after the match and they were in full voice, despite the appalling display.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher lauded the fans after the game on Monday Night Football, as per Sky Sports: “That is absolutely amazing support from Manchester United fans, they don’t deserve that support, incredible.”
