Erik ten Hag confident that attacker will find form amid Premier League goal drought

Erik ten Hag is unfazed by Rasmus Hojlund’s lack of Premier League goals and is confident that the forward will find the back of the net soon enough.

The 20-year-old is yet to bag his maiden goal in the top flight after making his Manchester United debut on September 3.

He has, however, scored three times in the Champions League and is currently the joint-second highest goalscorer in Euro 2024 qualifying with Denmark on seven, tied with England’s Harry Kane.

At a time when goals are hard to come by for United, pressure will only continue to mount on the attackers. Yesterday, it was midfielder Scott McTominay (again) and Diogo Dalot who were able to clinch all three points at Bramall Lane in the side’s 2-1 victory.

However, Ten Hag harbours no concerns over Hojlund, and it’s key that supporters are patient with him, too.

The manager told the media following the game (via ManUtd.com): “It is not a concern. He is scoring for Denmark, he is scoring for us in the Champions League so he will score for us also in the Premier League.

“I have no doubts about that. Today, he was two or three times in a very good spot. There will come his moment and he will finish.”
