Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly reached an agreement worth €9 million to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Matej Kovar.
That’s according to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, citing German outlet Kicker, with an updating suggesting a deal is in place for the Czech goalkeeper to move to Germany.
Furthermore, it is believed the first phase of Kovar’s medical examinations took place on Thursday.
Having joined the United academy in 2018, Kovar, 23, made a few appearances during pre-season this summer. He impressed but it was always clear that he wasn’t going to be back-up to Andre Onana next season.
Elsewhere, Infotbal claim United are expected to include a buyback clause and right of first refusal in Kovar’s deal to Leverkusen.
It’s a big move for Kovar and United recieve a decent sum of money for a keeper who is nowhere near the starting eleven.
And, it’s money that will help Ten Hag make more signings before transfer deadline day.
