(Video) Roy Keane blasts David de Gea after ‘horrendous mistake’ vs Everton

With Roy Keane sat modelling a fine moustache in the ITV studio, we all knew he would have something to say about David de Gea’s mistake for Everton’s goal.

Manchester United went into the game after showing great form since the return of domestic action after the World Cup, winning all of their matches and keeping consecutive clean sheets.

Meanwhile, Everton have struggled in the Premier League and you could see why most pundits could only see this game going one way.

It looked like it would be a walk in the park for the Red Devils when Marcus Rashford assisted Antony for the opening goal at the beginning of the game.

However, David de Gea committed a howler to allow Conor Coady score a tap in to equalise for Everton. The goal came after the United goalkeeper let a ball from Neal Maupay through his legs as he held on to the near post.

Keane was quick to crack a joke about De Gea’s goalkeeping.

“It’s a shocking mistake from an international goalkeeper,” Keane told ITV. “Everton have showed a bit of fight, they have turned it into a cup tie, but that’s carry on football from De Gea.

“It looks like he has had a few drinks, a shocking mistake. It’s almost as if the goalkeeper has been sent off and there’s an outfield player in goal, he just doesn’t know what to do. A horrendous mistake.

“It gives Everton a bit of encouragement, a bit of belief and a bit of life for the supporters.”

Thankfully, United were able to go on and win the match 3-1 and progress into the next round of the FA Cup.
