Manchester United are planning to reward Diogo Dalot with a new long-term contract.

The Portugal international recently had an extension triggered in his current deal to extend it by a further 12 months. That extension also prevents foreign clubs from trying to strike a pre-agreement with Dalot in January.

It goes without saying that Dalot has impressed with his performances this season. United went into the 2022/23 season with serious doubts at right-back, but the 23-year-old has exceeded expectations by making the position his own.

According to Portuguese publication O Jogo, as cited by Sport Witness, United want to offer Dalot a five-year contract

Ten Hag will hope that Dalot can continue growing as a player because he has been United’s most improved player this season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka played the last two games in Dalot’s absence, although the former FC Porto defender has returned to training this week along with Victor Lindelof.
