Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence after signing for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.
Just over a month since Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated at Manchester United, the Portuguese icon has signed a two-year deal at Al Nassr. CBS claim he has signed a deal in the range of £172 million.
The 37-year-old made it sound like he could still play at the highest level in an interview with Piers Morgan, which resulted in his United career coming to a premature end, but he has ironically ended up in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking about his transfer to Al-Nassr, Ronaldo said (via Manchester Evening News): “I am happy to have a new experience in another league and another country. Al-Nassr’s vision is very inspiring. I’m very excited to join my teammates and help the team achieve more success.”
We hate to tell him… but he won’t be playing in the Champions League for Al-Nassr. That will raise questions over whether his days in the Champions League are over.
At a recent Carabao Cup match against Burnley at Old Trafford, the fans sung a chant in response to Ronaldo’s exit. The lyrics are as follows: ‘I don’t care about Ronnie… he don’t care about me… all I care about is MUFC’.
