Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia has sent a message to Erik ten Hag following Saturday’s heavy defeat to Brentford.
The Red Devils suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford with Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo all getting on the scoresheet in West London.
It was so bad that the game was over by half-time.
United’s defeat leaves us positioned at the bottom of the table.
I don’t know how the board thinks it’s acceptable to hire a new manager but not back him with a fully equipped squad for the new season. The sheer incompetence absolutely reeks from Old Trafford.
Malacia came on at half-time against Brentford on Saturday when the scoreline was 4-0, which is how the game finished at full-time. He has now sent a message to his manager ahead of the upcoming game against Liverpool.
The Netherlands international was asked why he was a substitute at the weekend and he told Viaplay (as quoted by the Manchester Evening News): “You have to ask the trainer about that. It’s something between me and the trainer, we discuss that together.
“I’m fit. I don’t come here to sit on the bench.
“I always want to play, of course. When my time comes, I will definitely be there.”
SN’s verdict
United were so bad in the first two games of the season, I think Ten Hag will make a number of changes for the game versus Liverpool.
That might be a risk but so is sticking with the same team that is losing games against Brighton and Brentford.
It’s time to see a reaction from this team but I am fed up from demanding one.
