United refuse to slap transfer fee on Ronaldo’s head with live offer waiting

Manchester United have hardened their stance on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, according to reports.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes told United chiefs he had a live offer, but the club must reveal their asking price to get the deal done.

It is suggested that there was also a proposal from Ronaldo’s behalf to simply release him on a free transfer because of his apparent “loyalty” to the club.

United refused to slap a price on the player’s head and baulked at the idea of letting him leave on a Bosman.

They must have the wrong person for showing loyalty to United…

Is this the same Ronaldo who described himself as a slave during his time at Old Trafford, as per The Guardian? The same Ronaldo that decides to try force an exit just one year into his contract due to throwing his toys out of the pram after the team failed to qualify for the Champions League?

I’ll have whatever Mendes is having.

Let us know in the comments section what you think United should do with Ronaldo this summer.

SN’s verdict

We are running out of time to prepare for next season without Ronaldo.

On another note, Ten Hag shouldn’t let this situation boil over because he risks upsetting the dressing room.

I don’t see the benefit of having Ronaldo around next season if he is trying to force a move away.

The timing of his request, however, raises a lot of questions and I think he is tarnishing his legacy at the club.
