Report suggests when Manchester United will announce Erik ten Hag as new manager

Most outlets are reporting that Manchester United are closing in on the appointment of Erik ten Hag as their next manager.

Sky Sports claim that talks have been held over the best way to formally announce an agreement, so our attention automatically switched to when that would come.

Ajax are in a title race currently and Ten Hag will be focused on winning more silverware before leaving Amsterdam.

According to the Telegraph, there is clear optimism from all parties that a deal will be concluded in the next few days, which backs up claims Stretty News made about Ten Hag’s camp meeting with United again later this week.

The Telegraph adds: “It is then hoped that an announcement will be made towards the end of next week with Ten Hag having now entered into discussing the details over his contract at United.”

It is also noted that Richard Arnold and Joel Glazer are in favour of giving the job to Ten Hag.

On top of that, the club will meet with Mauricio Pochettino later this week as previously planned, and it is believed they will tell him he has not the successful candidate.

The sooner it is announced the better so we can properly plan ahead for next season.

Transfer targets are unlikely to commit to the idea of joining United until they know who will be in charge next season. We also need to know which players the next manager thinks will help him improve the current squad.
