Everton strike agreement to take Donny van de Beek on loan from Manchester United

Everton have an agreement in place with Manchester United to sign Donny van de Beek on loan. The midfielder will now decide whether he prefers a move to Goodison Park or Crystal Palace.

According to a report by Fabrizio Romano via The Guardian, Everton are willing to pay Van de Beek’s full salary until the end of the season after learning that Frank Lampard is a fan of the Dutch international.

The Chelsea legend is expected to be named Everton manager on Sunday – with Van de Beek being his first signing, albeit on loan.

The Netherlands international has struggled to get regular game time at Manchester United since joining from Ajax, but this is an opportunity for a fresh start somewhere new.

It also gives him the chance to grow into the Premier League ahead of another managerial appointment at Old Trafford this summer.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on at either Everton or Palace after finding it so hard to break into United’s line-up over the past two seasons.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Van de Beek can still be a big hit in the Premier League.

  1. Donny is a class player, and I hope he shows United up for their mistreatment of him. To not get any sort of a chance despite the underwhelming efforts of McFred was ridiculous.
