Senior Manchester United players want Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasing pressure to turn things around at Manchester United amid a poor run of form. The Reds have won just one of their last six Premier League games, with big defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City particularly damning on his side.

In perhaps even more worrying developments, it’s not being claimed that ‘very senior’ figures in Manchester United’s first-team squad are beginning to lose faith in the manager and would like to see a managerial claim.

That’s according to journalist Duncan Castles, who addressed the matter on the Transfer Window Podcast.

“It’s actually amazing that he’s still in a job, given the results and the nature of the work he has done leading up to those results,” Castles said, according to the Daily Express.

“Given the response of the dressing room, where there are now very senior members of the Manchester United squad briefing off record that they feel that the coach has to change if they are to achieve what they expect to be able to achieve with the quality of the squad they have gathered there.

“And remember, this is one of only two squads in the history of the game that have cost over €1bn of transfer commitments to put together.”

At the time of writing, there is no indication from the club that a decision over Solskjaer’s future has been made but clearly, he is in desperate need of a good run between now and the end of the year.
