Manchester United in advanced negotiations over Cristiano Ronaldo return

The Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga is really starting to heat up.

The 36-year-old only has one year left on his contract and talks over an extension did not take place at Juventus.

Juventus are looking to adopt a more sustainable model in order to adapt to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, meanwhile United look hijack a rival’s attempt to make the biggest signing of the summer transfer market.

According to The Athletic, Manchester United are in advanced talks with Juventus to sign Ronaldo, and potentially bring about a sensational return to Old Trafford for the five time Ballon d’Or winner.

It looked like Man City had a clear run at signing Ronaldo but United thought otherwise.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made no secret his admiration for Ronaldo earlier, using a press conference to tell the Portugal international: “We’re here.”

Shortly after Solskjaer address the media, reports that City were pulling out of talks with Ronaldo began to surface.

Left with egg on their faces.
