Man United make way in hunt to sign midfielder as player’s agents negotiate move to Liverpool

Although the club has already spent upwards of £100m on both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, many Manchester United fans will argue that the Red Devils still need to sign an established midfielder. However, according to recent reports, one player not expected to arrive at Old Trafford this summer is Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, who is instead seeing his services offered to Liverpool.

That’s according to a recent exclusive report from CaughtOffside, who claims the representatives of the Spanish midfielder are attempting to ‘engineer’ a move to Anfield this summer.

Niguez, 26, has played a major role in the successes Diego Simeone has enjoyed while at the helm of Atletico Madrid.

However, after slipping down the South American’s pecking order in recent seasons, Niguez’s time at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium now looks certain to be coming to an end.

Several clubs have been linked with a summer transfer – understood to be available at a cut-price, however, CaughtOffside believe that a potential switch to Manchester United is not one that is going to materialise.

Although it has been noted that the player’s agency, Stellar, headed by leading agent Jonathan Barnett, are keen to see their star client join Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are still yet to make a decision.
