Jose Mourinho has no interest signing Man Utd duo as Roma weigh up transfer options

The word coming out of Italy is that Jose Mourinho has no interest in signing Manchester United duo Nemanja Matic or Alex Telles.

Jose Mourinho has returned to Serie A as AS Roma manager after previously winning the treble with Inter Milan.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano gave some clarity around both player’s situation and I don’t think Telles will be moving anywhere this summer, unless United are tempted by a decent transfer offer.

And while everyone has long accepted that Matic’s best days are behind him, the Serb is our only real defensive midfielder so unless that is addressed, he could also stay for the new season.

I would have thought this was Matic’s final summer at the club but he’s still hanging in there.

The former Chelsea midfielder turned 33 this week and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could decide to keep him around the sheer experience, and we got that in abundance with the arrival of Raphael Varane.

Meanwhile, Granit Xhaka is expected to sign a new contract at Arsenal until June 2025, which is good news for every club in the Premier League.
