Manchester United target returns to West Ham training

Declan Rice is one of Manchester United’s midfield targets but so far this summer it has felt like the England international would be priced out of a move from the Hammers.

The Manchester Evening News go as far as to say Rice is United’s number one target for their midfield this summer.

He’s arguably their most prized asset and West Ham already know they won’t have the same firepower from Jesse Lingard next season as it looks like the academy graduate is pushing to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place.

However, The Telegraph are now reporting that Rice has returned to training with West Ham after Euro 2020 and is not expected to push for a move this summer.

The West Ham Twitter account also tweeted a picture of Rice looking happy to be back training with his club.

That’s enough to suggest he will probably try bide his time for another year, experience European football with the Hammers and then try something bigger.

It makes you wonder what will happen with our midfield if United manage to sell a few players between now and deadline day.
