Sky Sports reporter claims Real Madrid star has permission to speak with Man Utd

After announcing that an agreement had been reached with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Jadon Sancho, it’s fair to assume that Raphael Varane’s future will now dominate headlines.

The defender has just one year remaining on his current deal in Spain and is the subject of longstanding interest from Manchester United, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to strengthen his backline.

Varane is currently on vacation after France’s shock exit from Euro 2020 but according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, as seen below, Real Madrid has given Varane permission to speak with Manchester United.

Sheth claims that initial talks have taken place with Varane’s representatives with Real Madrid’s permission and that Manchester United are interested in the player but are wary of potentially being used.

Sergio Ramos infamously signed a new contract at Real Madrid after extensive links with a move to Old Trafford in 2015 and it is thought that the club is desperate to avoid a repeat of that heartbreak six years ago.
