Another story we can’t seem to make sense of.

Ever since Jose Mourinho was announced AS Roma manager for next season, a number of Manchester United players have been linked with moves to the Stadio Olimpico.

At this rate, it seems every day a new player is linked with Roma – almost reminiscent to when he became United manager and we were leaked with every player at Chelsea.

It’s Donny van de Beek today even though the midfielder has never played under Mourinho.

I can’t really imagine Mourinho being the type of manager to bring the best out of Van de Beek, especially when you consider how he treated certain players at the club.

Calcio Mercato (H/t Sport Witness) suggest the transfer, but it seems like guesswork rather than any fact.

The Dutch midfielder knows he needs to improve next season and I doubt United will want to cash in on him either way. Van de Beek has shown glimpses of brilliance, but he needs to try to add more to his game next season.

Ultimately, I don’t think Van de Beek is a player Mourinho would want.
