Manchester United team news: Martial misses training ahead of Brighton clash

Manchester United take on Brighton in the Premier League this weekend – and we are over the moon after saying goodbye to international football for another while.

Ahead of the match, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer informed the press that Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford both trained for the first time this morning.

Rashford has been playing through the pain barrier for some time, and he picked up a knock prior to the international break which saw him miss England’s World Cup qualifying matches last week.

Meanwhile, Martial suffered a knee injury in a World Cup qualifier for France against Kazakhstan. Although he has not been in good form this season, Solskjaer is not really in a position to lose more forwards to injury, yet he revealed that the Frenchman missed training this morning.

“I don’t know about Anthony, he didn’t join in training this morning but Marcus and Mason trained for the first time this morning & hopefully they can get through that with no reaction & if they complete the selection tomorrow they might be available for selection,” Solskjaer said, as per MEN.

The international break can be reflected on positively for Paul Pogba, who used it to gain much needed minutes on the pitch after being out for a month with a thigh injury. He’ll be a huge boost to the side in midfield.

“It will be a massive boost.

“He has come back bright and ready to go. He will be important for us.

“Having Paul back fit, forwards firing again we can get that spark back.”
