Stat suggests United are improving defensively with Henderson in goal

Manchester United have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 6 matches. We wanted to look at why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is getting better results from his defence in recent weeks.

Solskjaer’s players were a collective unit at the Etihad. They worked tirelessly and that’s why Daniel James got the nod from the start. He’s a player the manager can trust to put in a shift and it’s always a challenge to get the ball off Man City.

Dean Henderson started between the posts after David de Gea missed out due to paternity leave.

However, it now looks like De Gea will have his work cut out for him if he wants his place back in the team.

Henderson has played four of our last six games, managing a clean sheet success rate of 100%.

United defended brilliantly against City and it looks like Henderson is more vocal on his line than De Gea.

I can’t be the only one thinking that Henderson’s guardianship from the back could be a big factor in how our defence is getting better results.
