Solskjaer confirms Manchester United seeking loan move for Facundo Pellistri

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that Manchester United are seeking a loan move for youngster Facundo Pellistri in the January transfer window.

The Uruguayan youngster joined the club in October, from Penarol, and has only played for the U23s so far.

He is still waiting on his first-team debut which may have to wait until next season, now with Amad Diallo joining the squad and expected to be placed higher in the pecking order for right wingers at the club.

Having recovered from COVID-19 the plan is now to find Pellistri a loan move that well benefit his development.

United are looking for a temporary move to get him some first-team experience, as Solskjaer revealed in his pre-match press conference ahead of Sheffield United’s visit to Old Trafford.

“Yeah, there have been talks, there have been quite a few clubs interested in Facundo to go out on loan,” said Solskjaer, as per ManUtd.com.

“That’s maybe something we will let him do now. He’s had a few games in the Reserves.

“We want him to give regular football, of course, at a higher level.”

Diallo, on the other hand, can expect to make his first team debut soon.

It’s only a matter of time before we see him involved in the matchday squad.

“With Amad, I think it’s a different scenario, he’s just come in and he’s going through a good training regime, training programme, and he’s doing really well,” Solskjaer added.

“It won’t be too long, I feel, before I can bring him into the squad.”
