Luke Chadwick has revealed his combined Manchester United and Liverpool XI ahead of Sunday’s mega-clash between the two sides at Anfield.

It’s a top of the table clash between two of England’s biggest football rivals, with Manchester United recently moving to the top of the Premier League, overtaking reigning champions Liverpool.

That is going to hurt the masses at Anfield and they will be going out to prove a point on Sunday.

Anyhow, former United midfielder Chadwick is looking forward to the game and he’s given his combined United-Liverpool XI to CaughtOffside: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Henderson, Fernandes; Salah, Rashford, Mane.

It’s a strong side with five Manchester United players — and the only real complaint I can see is that he picked Shaw over Andrew Robertson.

I doubt even the most biased United fan would argue Chadwick’s corner on that one. I’d find it more acceptable had he played Aaron Wan-Bissaka over Alexander-Arnold, to be perfectly honest.

But it’s also good to see Scott McTominay get the recognition he deserves.

The Scotland international has been terrific for United this season and we’ll be hoping to see him provide a driving force from midfield at Anfield this weekend!
