The coming days are said to be important for Manchester United’s recruitment team who are reportedly deciding whether to launch moves for Moises Caicedo.
According to football hack Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are considering a move for the Ecuadorian starlet, who is a defensive midfielder.
The Red Devils are also believed to be looking at Norwich full-back Max Aarons, who could provide competition to the highly-rated Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.
Aarons was one of Norwich’s standout players last season and it was a big surprise that none of the other top flight clubs signed him after the Canaries suffered relegation to the Championship last term.
Romano, however, seems to think United have a decision to make this week on Caicedo and with the January transfer open who knows if the Reds will dip into the market?
The Italian journalist gave an update on Twitter, stating: “Man United are still on the same position regarding M. Aarons and M. Caicedo.
“Aarons: appreciated but nothing advanced or imminent now.
“Caicedo: talks on by weeks, personal terms and club agreement wouldn’t be a problem — next days #mufc will decide if signing him or not.”
It was telling that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to play Victor Lindelof at right-back against Leicester because of the lack of competition at right-back. Wan-Bissaka was injured and if he ever suffers a long-term injury we could be in trouble.
Lindelof struggled as expected so maybe it is time to buy another right-back as Timothy Fosu-Mensah turns down United’s latest contract offer, as per the Daily Mail.
On top of that, I’d definitely have Aarons over Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot, with the former currently on loan at AC Milan.
