Video: Solskjaer gives full squad injury update after Man Utd victory over Southampton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided a compressive injury update on his Manchester United players after the dramatic victory over Southampton at St Mary’s.

Anthony Martial was completely omitted from the afternoon’s squad and Solskjaer confirmed that the Frenchman travelled but fell ill on the night before the game so remained in the club’s hotel.

Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay were also not involved on the South coast but Solskjaer hopes the midfield duo will return to training on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Luke Shaw remains out with a hamstring injury but Jessie Lingard is back in contention for selection.

Alex Telles retained his place ahead of Shaw against Southampton but had to be replaced in the closing stages.

However, Solskjaer added that the Brazilian doesn’t have a serious problem.

David de Gea was forced off at half-time following a collision with the post after James Ward-Prowse’s goal but the extent of his injury is not yet known.

We expect Solskjaer to rotate his side against PSG where the Reds can seal their progression through to the Champions League knockdown stages.

Inspired match-winner Edinson Cavani is in line for a start against his former side should Martial not recover from his bout of illness.
